The human microcosm

Christiane Maluck scenic view in secret

In one part of the former barracks "Hungry Wolf "in Hohenlockstedt (circle stone castle) has established itself in the last year what an artists' colony. Over 40 artists have found there a new location for their studios and galleries. The Itzehoer artist Christiane Maluck is one of them. On 19 March she presented an exhibition there in their rooms, by which it Atelier Gallery inaugurates its official.

2011 is for the artist, a jubilee year: for 20 years Maluck as a freelance artist, and since 15 years she runs her own painting school and in the fifth year she takes on projects at the Cultural Night Itzehoe part.

The focus of the inaugural exhibition is on people - a typical topic of a painter, she often and varied, and the traces they have since 1992 in various artistic ways. But this time is the issue much closer, more intimate and detailed focus: Christiane Maluck goes with her large-scale acrylic paintings on a journey into the interior of the body - in microcosm - and even into nerve cells and blood vessels, in worlds which, although every person carries within itself, which one but with the naked eye can not see them. This unsparing look inside has certainly irritating to many: one meets viruses that attack human cells, nerve cells and blood cells, hormones, and stem cells and a fetus in its early development phase.

Although Maluck realistic for templates works (eg photographs of a scanning electron microscope), affect the motives of their extreme magnification and the unreal colors strange, almost abstract and mysterious in a disturbing way.

But this little world, so foreign to us also appears connected, but all people of different sexes, ages and backgrounds by their biological functions. By choosing this theme, the artist wants the viewer aware of the simple phrase: all men are by nature equal. Or, as Chris Maluck puts it herself: " It is not up to date, to our knowledge about us, we discriminate against each other and destroying our environment and the same time! We act so against nature. "

The opening on 19 March is designed to match the theme: Visitors will find a dim half-light - because all of our microcosm is in darkness - and the artist asks even a taboo: the images may all be touched and sensed. To this art experience that appeals to several senses at once, to make tangible, it has the work of sand, filler, glass beads or a tactile impasto, sealed surface awarded.

also expects to open a surprise visitor, which will spread as it were, an "art" virus "to all those present.
